Re: 1994 Toyota Supra Twin Turbo, auto, stock - $40K

I'm really curious how far they can go with this engine. Probably way farther than I can imagine. I know 15 years ago I never imagined how far the 2j could be taken on OEM block and head. Also, curious how much the trans can handle. As far as I know they aren't doing anything to the trans. Anybody k...

Lol! The outrage about the C8 is right on par with the new Supra being debuted.
And as one of the "Ricer MFIC" I'm gonna ask y'all to ease up on the ricer comments. :)

Goodyear downtown used to do a free test drive with new alignment.
Not sure that's still the case.

I put FIC (Fuel Injector Clinic) 1650's on my Poopra a couple years ago and they were $700 OTD. I just did a quick search and saw they were about $1,200 now. Wow.

One day I'm gonna start posting some of the carnage I've been involved in with these race cars over the years.

I found a bunch of stuff on one of my old phones last week that's got all the crazy Middle East stuff on it. I had forgotten about most of it.

I've driven lots of different cars with T56 and TR6060, and never considered it to be a badly shifting trans. But I've not driven one behind a 2J or Supra... Do you think the T56 is a notchy/poorly shifting trans in general - or just in the Supras you've driven? Do you know what shifter(s) they had...

My Tilton triple is dead quiet unless the AC is on and the clutch pedal out. The noise is the transmission gears rotating through the main shaft and being transferred thru to the non dampened flywheel. I've also had them only be noisy when the AC is off. It's all in how the engine is loaded. You can...

Notice the AC was off.
Lots of them will make noise with AC on.

Edit, that's a nice option and I like a heavy flywheel. No need in that ultra light flywheel for anything I do.

You can't spend 6-$700 on something that's as big a part of your drivetrain as it is and expect it to drive like stock. Like I said back in October in your clutch advise thread.; a 6 puck ceramic is way overkill for this. A full face Kevlar disc would have way better engagement and drivability and ...
