Replaced the old school scammaster with one of the scamnaster G devices that fits in a gauge.

And figured out why the akly pump wasn't running

I don't see how he did it in one fill up. I've watched Ed Bolian's stories for his CL600 trek.

Some of these have been faked...
He turned it into a rolling gas tank.
And fueled up on the side of the interstate from a truck with a whole bed full of fuel tanks, lol.

Re: What Did You Do to Your Hotrod Today?

which has location pins that are part of the chassis, and the inner sleeve of the subframe mount bushing is meant to slip over the location pins. Ze Germans have done it backward. The sleeve presses into a fitting in teh bottom of the floor pan, not over a pin. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/upload...

Re: What Did You Do to Your Hotrod Today?

Can you not just (carefully) slice thru the sleeve as shown to relieve the hoop strength, allowing it to essentially fall right off? https://i.imgur.com/poY8GPnh.jpg It's pressed into a well in the floor pan above there. The grey bit that the top of your line is touching is the exterior part of it....

Re: What Did You Do to Your Hotrod Today?

The stuck bit is aluminum and steel, not rubber. I was able to shred the rubber bushings with a big ass two jaw puller and lots of force. https://i.imgur.com/yIJ2Xrah.jpg https://i.imgur.com/K1k7IYZh.jpg I pressed the remnants of the bushings out, and got subframe all cleaned up and ready to weld on...

Re: What Did You Do to Your Hotrod Today?

There's just nothing to push against. The structure in that area under the car is all single layer sheet steel, and the bore inside the floor pan where the center sleeve of the bushing presses in is so close to the ID of the sleeve that you can't get purchase in either direction to push on it. I wa...

Re: What Did You Do to Your Hotrod Today?

Got a pair of fresh tirees mounted on the rear of the wagon yesterday. I'm going to have to do a refresh on teh rear suspension pretty soon to keep from shredding these guys like the last pair. I've been working on my E30 a bunch the last couple weeks. The rear subframe bushings are stuck stuck in t...

Re: What Did You Do to Your Hotrod Today?

I recharged the AC in the Swagon this afternoon. I have a guy with an AC cart, and we drew the system down, and got 9 oz out of it. The spec was 26.4 oz. It only would accept 23 oz of refrigerant. I'm a little stumped as to why that would be. It blows cold, though. I'm not going to argue with it unt...

I had a friend try to get some stills on the Tail of the Dragon. That was interesting. Had a guy stop in a Replica AC Cobra and talk to me... on the freaking dragon, mid corner (hey man, any cops out tonight?).

woo.
Deal's Gap day trips are encouraged uses for hot rods. Nice work.

Re: What Did You Do to Your Hotrod Today?

Oh, no, baby! What is you doin? Trying to grow the detailing business. I'll hopefully be back in one in the next year or so because I REALLY enjoy this car, but I just spent a decent chunk of change on a 2500 to pull the trailer with (among other things). Just figured getting rid of the Vette might...
