Buttoned up the rear suspension with new shocks and drag bags. Added a pedders diff bushing. Front suspension is done. Painted calipers. Getting close.

Only thing left for this round is to install the 05 front brakes and stoptech kit, install rear subframe bushings.

This is probably the most expensive single item for a car that I have ever bought, and it only includes springs for one end. What's the "responsible life decisions" emoji?

I mean that's fair. if it skids off the planned travel path it won't be pretty.

Hey- this place is still alive.

Recent automotive action would be :

Going full pawpaw mode and putting some 69 series ProComps with all terrain tires on the jeep (my dad approved so I've got to be getting old). Also deleted the spare tire to make towing a bit more friendly.
From this:

To this:

I recently bought back my first car (69 Camaro) and I looked at buying some parts for it today, but then closed the browser when I checked my bank account.

Current state:

Bled brakes. Bled them again. Drove it. Obviously these incorrect speed bleeders are incorrect. Will bleed again tom.

The difference in handling is immense, even at 20mph.

did some work on the XJ.

15x10 wheels, Osram DOT and SAE legal LED headlights, smoked clear turn and marker housings (with switchback bulbs), and added a LockRight rear lunchbox locker. got the front disassembled to install the locker in it, and realized the one they sent was mis-labeled. ordered another, it will go in next week. still waiting on the winch and rock sliders to get here. winch shows a delivery date for Tuesday, rock sliders are still being made i guess.
planning on doing a little more wheeling Sunday and see how it acts with the rear locker.
i am having an issue with getting it into 4LO. have to crawl under it and put it in manually. i think the factory Z-bar is toasted and just isn't going to work with the t-case being dropped an inch in the rear. ordered a kit that eliminates the factory linkage and uses two spherical rod ends to get the job done instead.
