DIY Hydro dipping anyone?

anyone tried DIY hydro dipping? the kits seem cheap enough, and the youtube video's make it look simple enough. i have a couple oddly shaped plastic parts i'd like to do.

No personal experience, but a former coworker of mine got into it. Said it was really quite easy to achieve good results, and in fact started a side hustle doing it for hire.

i watched several videos on it, and at $70 for the whole kit, i may have to give it a try.
