I'll bet he wishes he didn't have remote start...

Post by Hodgdon Extreme » Mon Jan 20, 2020 12:23 pm

Couple years ago, a friend of a friend bought a perfect 2001 Cobra with only 2k miles on the clock. Apparently it is equipped (aftermarket, presumably) with a remote start.

Yesterday he was walking up to it and hit the start button. It was in reverse. It started. It ran over his feet, then backed across the parking lot and smashed into somebody else's car.

I’ve experienced this mishap twice. One time no damage except for skinned knees diving into the skipping car headed towards a big steel sign. Second time was a different car and it ran into my own (thank the lord) building.

Compustar makes a remote start safe for manuals, if it’s not designed for a manual it’s a hack....
Can't fix stupid.

Why should I have to change my name? He’s the one that sucks!

My chevelle has the nuetral safety delete mod', because driver-mod'.

But a video of this incident would mesh well with the mustang car show rolling burnout attempts. F'in Christine cars.

Does that last reference make me old? I mean, i am, but for self awareness sake...

Did anyone else catch the video of the kid starting his dad's GT350, then letting off the clutch in gear?
